How brave are you?

I question myself for posting this but I think I should. We are not challenged enough in our faith. Yeah things happen that might make us question but really challenge, I’m not sure. I found this video of Richard Dawkins where he reads parts of his book The God Delusion for the wildly popular Book TV on CSPAN2. Check out the video. You should though carve out about 40 minutes for part 1 and over an hour for part 2.

Dawkins brings up some good challenges like God’s nature in the Old Testament. He calls God: “jealous and proud of it, petty, unjust control freak, vindictive, blood thirsty, ethnic cleanser, homophobic, racist” and more but I’ll stop quoting him here. Most of what he has to say revolves around “how could you believe in a God like this” I think. He offered no proof, atleast in the part 1 to suggest that there is no God. We breezes by a chapter in the book called the God hypothesis, I think I know hypothesis is in there, without reading a excerpt from it. I think it is kind of funny and ironic how an atheist can refer to something about God as a hypothesis while talking about the theory of evolution as fact.

Regardless, I will make time to watch part 2 sometime tomorrow. But how brave are you? Will you go watch the video? I hope you do?
