I have been thinking a lot lately about all the ways “Christians” act in such ways that are so different from Biblical examples and calls to act and live.
Judgment runs rampant among us, materialism, ego, the Pharisaical way of adding rules to the bible so better safe guard us, the way condemn in stead of love. Just to name a few.
As Craig Groeschal says in his book Confessions of a Pastor, the one that I hate the most is myself.
How long are we going to sit down and let these ways permeate our faith communities and ourselves? The time to stand up and be Biblical Christians is now! We can’t wait any longer to get back to Biblical principles of being Christians because there is a world out there of lost people who know how hypocritical they are from true Christianity and don’t want anything to do with it.
Thoughts?

Perhaps it’s more challengingly said: The time to stop spending in excess on ourselves and truly sacrifice for God and other people is now. It’s easy for me to live Biblical principles, but much harder to live a life of faith.

Well said. But are not these Biblical principles only fruit produced from living a life focused on God in faith?

I’d like to think so, but the phrase has been used in many situations where that’s not true. Lately, I find it’s almost better to speak directly to the change the needs to happen than even words like I’ve used above. It’s usually more inspiring and more challenging.

Great Point! Maybe that is where we have gone wrong. Instead of talking about a person or challenging a person to be a Christian or act more Christ-like we should challenge to produce fruit and be know for what you do and not just the name.
